As the Michigan Oppos know, it's snowing. Here it's suppose to be around 8". I don't really mind except a still have to gather firewood from outside. Also, I shoveled my driveway twice yesterday, and it looks like I made little to no impact.

Good Morning. Today I woke around 3:30 am. I did have to get up early, but that is very early indeed. But I couldn't fall back asleep so I got on the road about half past 4.

I remember one year at my parents' house (in Michigan) they left and told me to shovel the driveways (they have two). By the time they returned, I was halfway through the second driveway and they got mad because they thought I had just started. That's when I had to get out their old psychopathic snowblower which liked to spontaneously leap into WOT and stay there.

Dang. The earliest I can safely drive on the roads is 7:30am. The latest i can go is about 7pm. I can't drive when it's dark, I'm just not alert enough, :/.

Nice. I just shoveled a quarter of mine before I gave up (it's a long driveway). Anywhere I step, it's at least 9" of snow.
Question, do snowblowers work on dirt roads?

Hm. I really enjoy driving in the early morning.

If you get a bigger, nicer one you should be able to make it work. The key is an adjustable auger height, that way you can set it high enough so that it will just go over any unevenness in the road surface. Something with bigger wheels/tires would also be more effective. It won't clear it as well as an asphalt surface, but if it matters that much going over the rest with a shovel will be much easier.

I suppose it doesn't help that a concern is random deer where I live, that may not help driving in the dark. In the daytime, I can at least see the deer. So not alert and nervous about the unknown, it's probably just me then, :).

Here we have random Moose, as well as random deer. I do go slower at night due to the random wild animals, you're not wrong to be wary.
